The Beestemerk, the original market for livestock farmers, was created again in 1978. The market is still held on the second Thursday in September. There is a cozy fair with stalls full of goodies and goodies and there is a big lottery.
The farmers who supply cattle compete for different prices. For example, there is 'the Piet van Simon jar' for the furthest cattle dealer and 'the Clipper jar' for the lightest fierce animal.
